BoBoiBoy Galaxy (Season 2)[]

Baraju Arc[]

Though she did not appear in the 4-part issue arc, Kira'na is clearly responsible for instigating a war between Flame and Snow Tribes at Planet Baraju by having Mister Pato to use his robots to instigate the event. Despite BoBoiBoy and his gang has foiled their plans as the war is finally over, Kira'na assured him their goals are finally achieved unlike Reramos who is power hungry. Mister Pato promised he'll send all the shiny metals while being aware that TAPOPS might be tracking down his ship, but Kira'na didn't care and claimed that the entire galaxy will know the true greatness of her power.

Gur'latan Arc[]

One month after the war of Planet Baraju is finally over, Kira'na was the one who paid Mister Pato and use his robots to attack the United Planets Organization meeting. She then betrayed him and took KeyBot away from him to use the Power Sphere for her galaxy conquest.

At the Financial City of Gur'latan Planet, all of the TAPOPS members, the delegates of each planets and the other well-known figures are arrived for the meeting at the Conference Hall. When Kira'na arrives, Fang introduced her as his and Kaizo's childhood friend to his friends. After she gets to know BoBoiBoy's friends by telling them about their past adventures, she became disappointed that BoBoiBoy couldn't get to the meeting due to busy training with Hang Kasa and Ochobot at the Quabaq Planet though she's still happy that she gets to meet his friends. She also heard that Captain Kaizo is also busy too because he's still dealing with Mister Pato.

When the meeting with TAPOPS member and planet delegates has begun, Kira'na explains how United Planets Organization are formed 100 years ago until Retak’ka attacked them. In order to continue their legacy, she then announced that TAPOPS must be disbanded because they have failed to save her planet from Retak'ka in time and claims that BoBoiBoy and his friends were the ones who helped them save Windara and Baraju Planet, but not them. However, their meeting was ambushed and they were attacked by group of robots made by Mister Pato. While fighting with the robots, Kira'na used her blade to strike one of them. But suddenly, a Satriantar-like robot appears and attacked Kira'na until Yaya and Ying attacked it back, but they were knocked out as they're about to use their combo technique.

Gopal and Fang led the others to evacuate to the main hall but they were ambushed and attacked by Satriantar-like robot. Kira'na arrives to tell them that Yaya and Ying are knocked out which they have no choice but to contact BoBoiBoy since he's the only one who could deal with the situation. While fighting with Satriantar-like robot, BoBoiBoy arrives through Ochobot's teleportation and transform from Quake to Thunderstorm to fight the robot. While the others are bring the delegates to safe place, Kira'na went to help BoBoiBoy by giving him Satriantar's blade to beat the robot. With the blade, Thunderstorm is able to finish the robot off with full power, causing Kira'na to reminds him just like how Retak'ka is going to finish her father off.

After BoBoiBoy finished the robot off, Kira'na proceed to reveal her true nature and also her true heritage as the granddaughter of Satriantar, the original user of Voltra Elemental Power. But suddenly, Thunderstorm began to scream in pain as the blade began to absorbed his power. Kaizo then noticed about what happened and tried to strike her down from behind, but Kira'na is able to fend off his energy blade. Though Fang initially defends Kira'na from his brother, he was later knocked down by her, causing Kaizo to get furious and binding her with an energy chain. Unfortunately, Kira'na taunts Kaizo by telling him it's too late as BoBoiBoy's Thunderstorm power is already absorbed through the blade. After she finally obtained the Voltra power back to her blade, Kaizo tried to attack her but only for him to get shot by a sniper, revealing she has already hired him just in case. Kira'na order her soldiers to capture BoBoiBoy, but only for Kaizo to escape along with BoBoiBoy and Gopal while everyone else are captured, causing them to hide at the Thunder Base Town. All of her captives were later imprisoned at the secret facility at Thunder Base and BoBoiBoy's friends' power watches were stolen as well.

In order to capture them at all costs, Kira'na has branded BoBoiBoy, Gopal and Captain Kaizo as criminals, claiming them as "terrorists" at Gur'latan Planet. She later visits BoBoiBoy's friends at prison and asked Fang for help to preserve the peace of Gur'latan Planet and the entire galaxy. After her explanation, Fang became shocked over her plans to rule over all planets, but she justify it by claiming that they only did it for the good of the galaxy and there will be no more dangerous threats if he could agree with her plans rather than relying on BoBoiBoy. Without other choices, Fang reluctantly accepts, only doing it for undercover. She then returns to royal palace and told General Sa'riya not to use the Voltra powers for her robotic experiments. However, General Gur'mida arrives and informed that BoBoiBoy, Gopal and Captain Kaizo had escaped from the Guruhan army and are on their way to Thunder Base, so Kira'na has no choice but to have them captured at all costs while preparing for the ceremony.

The next morning at her coronation, Kira'na and her two generals, General Sa'riya and General Gur'mida, arrived at the Royal Palace Square where she's delivering her speech to her people about how everything will change if the entire galaxy will be under the Gur'latan Empire's rule after hundred years of tragedy and suffering at the hands of Retak'ka, even everyone in the entire galaxy are watching from the live broadcasted by Sa'riya. After finishing her speech, she was seen wearing her armor and raising her blade upwards, summoning red lightning above, becoming the empress of Gur'latan Planet. Shockingly, a Guruhan soldier with a grey cloak arrived and revealed himself to be Fang, much to BoBoiBoy and the others' shock. After Fang showing "loyalty" to Kira'na, Kaizo waste no time to wait and went to confront Fang for choosing Kira'na's side over him and his friends, causing BoBoiBoy and his gang to be surrounded by Guruhan army.

When BoBoiBoy and his gang tried to reasoned with him, Fang angrily tells them how they would feel if they lost their loved ones, their family. After sending Fang to the royal palace, Kira'na waste no time mocking Kaizo for "abandoning" his brother. BoBoiBoy convince others to retreat, but Gur'mida was about to prevent them before Kira'na stops him and challenging BoBoiBoy for one-on-one fight, which he accepts. BoBoiBoy then splits into two with both Quake and Ice and tried to attack her but is no match for her. When she was about to finish off BoBoiBoy, Yaya suddenly using her powers to stop her which causing Gur'mida had no choice but to order his army to attack her and the others. After Quake and Ice are fused into Glacier and save his friends from the Guruhan army, unfortunately he's still no match for her and tried to reason with Kira'na. Instead of reconsidering his words, she proceeds to mock Glacier by calling him the "destroyer of the galaxy" and blames him and the rest of TAPOPS for the loss of her father. After failing to warn Kira'na that the Voltra power is too dangerous and unstable for her to control, Glacier attempt to stop her at all costs but he was quickly defeated later on. After BoBoiBoy is turned back to normal, Kira'na was about to finish him off but his allies tried to stop her until MYS Justice arrives to pick them up. She failed to stop them from escaping but managed to damaged the spaceship before angrily tells BoBoiBoy that there's no place for people like him in the galaxy.

Because of this, Kira'na words fall onto BoBoiBoy's ears which causing him to grow depressed over the fact that he could've ended up like Retak'ka if he choosed to use his third-tier power and he should've defeated Retak'ka early before, but BoBoiBoy's friends including his mentor Hang Kasa comforted him into lifting his spirit back. Meanwhile back at the royal palace, the rest of hostages disagree with her plan to conquer every planet under her rule, but Kira'na attempt to justify it by claiming that there will be no war if every planet will be safe under her rule before she left as they reject her plan again. At Sa'riya's lab, she and her generals are discussing the preparation to conquer many planets like Earth, Rimbara, Bayugan, Windara and Baraju in order to conquer the entire universe under the rule of Gur'latan Empire, unaware that Fang is reporting to Kaizo, causing BoBoiBoy and the others believed they're right that Fang isn't the traitor and finally get their chance of stopping her.

Later outside the palace, Kira'na was informed by Sa'riya that her plans were supported by most of Gur'latan residents. As her army was about to take off to the orbit, Fang contacts her and convinced her to reconsider her decision or else the whole galaxy views her as a conqueror instead of protector, but instead she refused to listen and assured him that her conquest is the only way to ensure the safety for the galaxy. After her armada is taken down, BoBoiBoy and his gang tried to reasoned with her but only for them to be surrounded by Guruhan army. After Yaya and Ying took down most of Guruhan army, Kira'na realized that BoBoiBoy has infiltrate her palace and went to confront him along with ordering Gur'mida to oversee her army and armada and Sa'riya to come with her.

When she and Sa'riya went to the reactor room, Kira'na explains that she knew that BoBoiBoy and his friends are facing her army so he could secretly infiltrate the palace and take the KeyBot back from them to stop her plans. She also threatened for Fang's life as she also knew that he was only serving her undercover before went to attack him, but only for Fang to used a Shadow Shield. She then teleports in front of BoBoiBoy and slice a cup on his hand to prevent him from drinking the Oakuat juice, only to discover it's empty after he drank it before she already got there. After BoBoiBoy transformed into his third-tier nature elemental form BoBoiBoy Jungle, he was able to avoid Kira'na's attack and gained the upperhand on her, before finishing her with Creeping Jungle Fist. When she became weakened as she was nearly defeated, Kira'na is staring at Jungle before receiving a hallucination of Reta'ka in her eyes, causing her to get furious and her powers are getting out of control. Sa'riya became confident of her empress' powers and orders the elite soldiers to help her, only for Kira'na to angrily strike them down and told that she doesn't need any help. She tried to attack both BoBoiBoy and Fang and destroyed the core reactor before the boys are escaping.

However, Kira'na appears in front of BoBoiBoy and his gang. While Jungle went for rest and eat to restore his energy, she went to fought Fang who transformed into the Shadow Dragon against her until Jungle returns to help with the fight after he restored his energy back. Jungle and Fang tried to reasoned her again, but Kira'na refused to give up her powers and strike down the Shadow Dragon, almost killing Fang. However, Jungle managed to finish her off with Alpha Tumbosaur, destroying her armor in process. Without her armor, Kira'na's Voltra powers is getting even more out of control, causing her to began her rampage through Gur'latan Planet and endangering many people there. Jungle then summoned a large tree to save people from the rampage and tried to reasoned with her for the last time. Though she refused to give up her powers again at first, Kira'na finally realize the error of her ways as she saw her people are endangered thanks to General Sa'riya as the general had launched multiple holograms for her to see and how she almost destroyed the only family she ever had, which are Kaizo and Fang, until she agreed to return the Voltra powers back to BoBoiBoy. BoBoiBoy then transformed into Thunderstorm with the vision of Satriantar appears behind him. As they were falling from above the sky, Yaya managed to save BoBoiBoy and Kira'na from falling. Before she went unconscious, she saw hallucination of her father and grandmother and begs for their forgiveness.

The next day, the TAPOPS team have arrived at Gur'latan Planet and helping everyone up around the Financial City. When Kaizo visit her, Kira'na assured she's fine and her right arm is going to be recuperated soon. Kira'na become incredibly remorseful over her misguided actions almost endangering her people before BoBoiBoy, Hang Kasa and the planet leaders visit her as well. After Hang Kasa tells a story of how her grandmother Satriantar died protecting her people, Kira'na starts to cry after hearing the story which made her apologize to BoBoiBoy and the others she hurts. Despite she is already forgiven, Kira'na is still received punishment for her actions. The planet leaders and BoBoiBoy promised to rebuild Gur'latan Planet back to normal and motivated her with their advices, causing her to be moved by their words. Finally, BoBoiBoy and Kira'na are currently on better terms and no longer enemies anymore.

Personality[]

Kira'na is a determined and self-reliant woman who takes her responsibilities very seriously and values them, despite what she thinks that her doings are right when is actually wrong. She never hesitates to face people and is willing to make necessary efforts and sacrifices to achieve her goals and what she calls victory. She is said to be very strict but has great leadership skills. Kira'na is also arrogant about her grandmother’s Voltra power, claiming that she would be the savior of the galaxy. Despite her fearless and confident demeanor, Kira'na has an understanding side. Once she recognizes the impact her actions had caused to the people and the planet, she takes these lessons and learns from them.

Kira'na has a talent for changing her persona and hiding her true intensions within a kind personality.

During a flashback In her childhood days, it was shown that she was confident and sassy, especially when training, she is most enthusiastic and bold for.

Appearance[]

Kira’na is a tall, humanoid alien with a striking and regal appearance. Her most distinct facial features are her bright red eyes, complemented by two nearly triangular red markings on her cheekbones—birthmarks that signify her lineage. [this might be a reference to the traditional Chinese makeup ShiShi during Tang dynasty where red dots were placed on their cheeks or dimples.] Her long, wavy hair is in a vibrant shade of red and is styled in a way reminiscent of the traditional Japanese Maiko hairstyle, complete with an intricate braid at the back. Adding to her elegance, she adorns her hair bun with a head ornament resembling a traditional Chinese Guan, colored in rich tones of gold and red.

Her casual attire is a fusion of multiple traditional cultural styles. Her dress takes inspiration from the chut thai of Thailand and traditional Khmer clothing of Cambodia, accentuated with golden armor plating. The way her dress wraps around her form is also similar to the draping of a Japanese kimono. On her waist is a chestnut coloured fabric wrapped around it which seems to be a cummerbund, behind the band are two pairs of long fabrics in the style of the indian dhotti. On her right arm is an arm cuff similar to traditional Thai arm cuffs. She wears a golden aheli bangle with a red line on her right wrist which is commonly for bridal purposes.

Beneath the outer garment, she wears a bi-colored turtleneck in shades of black and ash violet, adding a modern contrast. The look is completed with sleek, long fingerless black gloves. Small, golden triangular accents are affixed to the neckline.

On her feet, Kira’na wears sandals that resemble geta, traditional Japanese wooden footwear. A pair of futuristic red visors extend into antenna-like extensions behind her ears. She also wears a hair accessory at the back of her head that secures the bottom of her hair looks quite similar to the helmet fukigaeshi but instead of being at the top, they are placed at the bottom of the head near the neck.

Her ceremonial dress is styled similarly to a paofu robe, crafted from deep blue fabric with intricate golden patterns that flow across the material. The robe drapes down to the floor, with the lower part transitioning into a high-slit tunic. Wrapped around her is a thick, floor-length pibo scarf, its blend of red, white, and gold colors. On her shoulders are golden pauldrons with sharp ends. She wears a ton of golden necklaces that resemble temple jewellery which is an indian bridal jewelry but also commonly used by dancers and for royalties to show off. Her hair is styled the same except that her bun now has become a mullapoo hairstyle where jasmine flowers are wrapped around an updo bun.

Abilities[]

Kira'na is good at self-defense and to wielding a sword due to the swordsmanship training she did since her childhood. After acquiring Voltra element, she enhanced her skills due to her new found strength.

  • Voltra Sword - The sword passed through the generations of Gur'latan royalty which can hold the Lightning element.
    • Voltra Sword Slice (Belahan Pedang Voltra) - Slices anything with the sword.
    • Voltra Sword Slash (Tetakan Pedang Voltra) - Horizontal and vertical slashes to counter the opponent.
    • Lightning Speed Multi Slash (Gerakan Kilat Tetakan Berganda)
  • Voltra Attack Maximum Speed (Serangan Voltra Kelajuan Maksima) - Direct attack with the lightning element's maximum speed.
  • Voltra Strike (Sambaran Voltra) - Electrocute opponents even at a distance.
    • Maximum Voltra Strike (Sambaran Voltra Maksima) - Similar to BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm's Thunderstorm Strike but at a larger scale.
    • Mega Voltra Strike (Sambaran Mega Voltra)
    • Multi Voltra Strike (Sambaran Voltra Berganda)
  • Voltra Spear (Tombak Voltra)
  • Voltra Mega Slice (Libasan Voltra Mega)

Trivia[]

  • The name Kira'na (Kirana) means Beautiful Sunbeam in Indonesian origins.
  • Kira'na resembles her grandmother, Satriantar (unmasked), a lot. Considering they have similar facial features and birthmarks that are placed on their cheeks.
  • Monsta gives BoBoiBoy characters (mostly humanoid aliens.) designs that has inspirations from cultures and traditions and Kira'na seems to be based of Thailand and Japanese culture. (possibly multiple more.)
    • Her hairstyle appears to be a combination of traditional Japanese hairstyles from different eras.
      • Most inspiration came from the Japanese Geisha hair style: Wareshinobu
    • While her dress resembles a Chut Thai and Khmer.
    • Her design is inspired by many parts of South East Asia.
  • She appears to be close to Kaizo and Fang. This assumption can be made based on the fact that she has affectionately referred to Fang as 'Pang' and has given Kaizo the nickname 'Kai' and still calls him this even now.
  • According to Sa'riya, Her armor was the regulator for the Voltra power.
    • Meaning without the armor, she is not capable of controlling the Voltra power.
    • This is also why she lost control of herself.
    • Sa'riya was the one responsible for designing and creating her Satriantar armor. Sa'riya developed it to be able to control the 3rd tier of Voltra and not letting Kira'na be in harm or have any injuries from the power.
  • Kira'na will remain as the crown-princess as she is currently being punished for her actions.
  • She is a professional when it comes to wielding a sword and using the arts of self-defense.
  • It is unknown if Kira'na was already born during the Retak'ka incident due to translation mistakes in the English version of the comic.
    • In the original Malay version, when Empress Satriantar Ratna tasks Hang Kasa with retrieving a 9th generation Power Sphera, he returns to report his success. The original line reads:
      • “Tok berjaya dapatkan Ochobot dan bergegas semula ke Gur’latan,”
      • (Translation: "I succeeded in getting Ochobot and hurried back to Gur’latan.")
    • However, in the English translation, the line is translated as:
      • "I managed to find Ochobot and rushed back to Kira’na."
    • It would also be unlikely, as Kul’dar, Kira'na's father, was presumably to still be a child during the same time as shown in the Volume 5 compilation comic’s special episode "Hikayat pengembaraan Hang Kasa".
