A Mystery in the Canyons [1] (Misteri Pergunungan Tandus) is the 5th issue of the second season of BoBoiBoy Galaxy, and the 12th issue overall in the series.
Synopsis[]
In an effort to retrieve the materials seized by Qually, BoBoiBoy and his friends are stranded in a barren and uninhabited mountainous area.
But something awaits them in the mysterious Snowasis. Can BoBoiBoy unravel the mystery of Snowasis and recover the lost ingredients?[2]
Plot[]
BoBoiBoy and friends were chasing Qually who betrayed them by sabotaging their spaceship and stealing the Sky Coconut. Yaya examines the ship's screen and finds that the next material, Blue Flame, is also in the area near their location. Fang drives the ship at high speed through the cracks to chase Qually's spaceship. Ying tries to get out of the ship and tries to slow down Qually's ship with Slow-Mo Speed.
However, Fang's spaceship's engine is busted due to Qually's shovel planted in the ship's system. Once again Fang's spaceship is crashed due to the same cause as the last one. BoBoiBoy along with Gopal went to find Qually while Fang tries to repair the ship. On looking around the surroundings, BoBoiBoy and Gopal see smoke billowing in the sky where Qually’s ship crashed. The path in front is divided into two paths and a distinct growl could be heard. BoBoiBoy and Gopal follow a narrow path to track down the source of the voice and found a small white fox-like creature with a flower bud-shaped antenna, which is stuck by a pile of rocks.
Suddenly, a landslide happens, BoBoiBoy turns to BoBoiBoy Quake and summons the Earth Golem to protect them from the rocks, while Gopal turns the rubble into anchovy fritters to save the white fox. Earth Golem lifts the rocks on the fox. BoBoiBoy checked for injuries but found none and asked Gopal for some of his food. Gopal transformed rocks into fruit for the fox to eat.
Gopal reminds BoBoiBoy of the Blue Flame, the fox heard them and barks to draw their attention to a small cave located nearby and lead them into it. After crawling along the narrow cave, BoBoiBoy and Gopal reached a cliff at the end of the road, and in the middle of the cliff was a frozen round pool clamped with snow with lotus-like blue flower in the middle.
The fox barked loudly at Qually on a snowy cliff. Qually heard a fox barking and looked to find BoBoiBoy and Gopal on the cliff. Meanwhile, BoBoiBoy is contacted by Yaya to inform that the Blue Flame is a flower, if threatened, would close the petals and not reopen for a year. So BoBoiBoy, Gopal and the fox rush down to stop Qually from stealing the flower.
BoBoiBoy turns into BoBoiBoy Ice to chase Qually and tried to block him with Ice Wall, but Qually managed to dodge and deflect with his Fire Spatula. Qually delayed Ice and Gopal by throwing his fiery shovels while rushing towards the Blue Flame, reciprocated with an outpouring of Ice Arrows and repeated Ice Cream Stick Transformation.
Qually throws a Pepper Powder Bomb towards Ice and Gopal, and Ice quickly summons Ice Shield to take cover from the explosion. Qually attempted to pluck the flower but the fox dived on him and threw him away from the flower. Gopal converts the frozen pool water to whipped cream and Ice freezes the pool with Ice Arrow so that Qually gets stuck.
BoBoiBoy asks Qually why he stole the ingredients, and Qually replies that he aspired since childhood to be a cook, but because his parents didn’t bless him, he ran away from home and traveled solely to learn from Gaharum. Gaharum also asked Qually to find four ingredients, and after hearing about another group looking for the same ingredients, he decided to come with them.
Gopal was overwhelmed to hear the story but Qually took the opportunity to throw Onion Bombs to distract them and used Fire Spatula to escape. Qually extended his Spatula and snatched the Blue Flame flower and escaped in his spaceship.
Thwarted, a few minutes later, BoBoiBoy and Gopal met Yaya, Ying and Fang who asked what happened. Suddenly, the fox started speaking in a manly voice, introducing himself as the guardian of Snowasis responsible for protecting the Blue Flame from falling into the wrong hands.
The team went downhearted at the failure of their mission, having acquired only two out of four ingredients, Yaya tried to raise the spirit and encourage them to try their best with the two remaining ingredients, namely Sacred and Crystal Salt.
